The programme selection check of the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht consists of a digital intake and a matching day.
Please note: unfortunately it regularly happens that e-mails about the programme selection check end up in spam boxes. Therefore, please check your spam box regularly so you don’t miss any important information.
Do you live in the Netherlands?
The programme selection check consists of three parts:
- After your application in Studielink, you will fill out a digital intake at home. This is a questionnaire that will help you consciously think about your programme choice. We will ask questions about your opportunities, interests and motivation. We will also ask you about which orienting activities you already did. It is important that you complete your digital intake within two weeks.
- At the end of the digital intake, you will find more information about how to sign up for the matching day. During this day you will hear about what is necessary to complete the study programme successfully. We will also provide more in-depth information about which capacities, interests, motivations, competencies and opportunities are best suited to the programme. The content of the day differs per programme.
- Within three weeks after the matching day, you will receive an e-mail with an advice. Examples of the advices: a) we see a definite match between you and the programme of your choice, b) we see a match, but also a few points of attention, or c) we do not see a match. The advice is non-binding. This means that it’s still up to you whether you start the study programme or not.
HU feels that every student should receive proper guidance during their academic career. Therefore, the answers from the digital intake and the advice will be saved in your personal student file. Your student counsellor will be able to use this to help you with questions or problems during your studies.
Do you live abroad?
When you live abroad the digital intake is a mandatory part of your programme selection check. Instead of the matching day you may take part in a non-mandatory Skype interview to get a more precise advice. if you have a foreign diploma of prior education, then an evaluation of your diploma is also a part of your application requirements. For more information about this, we refer you to ‘How to apply’
